Paul Accepted by the Apostles

Paul presents the gospel that he was preaching among the gentiles to those esteemed as leaders. He did this to make sure he was not running in vain. This arose because false believers infiltrated their ranks to spy on the freedom they have in Jesus and make them slaves.

-“The good news is brother you came a long way, the bad news is you went the wrong way”-Cole

6-10

Paul shows how he does not care about peoples rank because God does not show favoritism. God is using Peter to preach to the circumcised and Paul to the uncircumcised.James, Cephas and John who were esteemed as pillars and they gave Paul and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship. All they asked was to remember the poor which he had been eager to do all along.

-“God is trying to give a life jacket to those stuck in the deep waters”-Beline Verse 10

Paul Opposes Peter

11-14

-When Peter came to Antioch Paul opposed him because he stood condemned. He had started to separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. The jews all joined him in his hypocrisy even Barnabas. Paul then confronts him in front of everyone in order to hold him accountable.

-“They’re wrongteous”-Yvan

19-21

We were crucified with Christ and Its no longer us who lives but Christ lives in me. And Paul surrenders himself to live by faith in the Son of God. Paul does not set aside the grace of God because if righteousness  could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing.

Galatians 3

-“The faith is referring to Christ. The law was our watcher/guardian but now that Jesus came, we are made right by faith not by the law. We’re not locked up or under a curse like it says in the early verses no more.”-Yvan

Galatians 5

Life by the spirit

1-6

Paul says that when you allow yourself to be justified by the law you alienate the sacrifice of Jesus.  The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

-“Come as you are”-Keza Verse 6

7-12

-He talks about how easy it is for you to be misled. He also speaks about how people who lead others into sinning will have to pay the penalty. He also says he wishes these people living a half Christlike life would just stop faking and weaken themselves.

-“We have to be humble so we can exalted”-Beline

Life by the Spirit

13-18

We who have been set free are not to use our freedom to indulge in the flesh, but rather to serve one another humbly in love. The entire law is fulfilled by loving your neighbor as yourself. The flesh and the spirit are contrary to each other so they cannot coexist and are in conflict with each other. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

-“A lot of the time people take advantage of the freedom we have and use it to sin but we are meant to serve one another”-Deborah

19-26

Acts of flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God. To the fruits of the spirit there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
